The Stillpoint Within ~ A Silent Retreat
19–21 March 2027 | Somerset, UK
Optional third night to Monday 22 March
Sometimes what we're looking for isn't another answer. It's the space to hear ourselves again.
What if, for one weekend, you didn't have to hold everything together?
The Stillpoint Within offers a gentle rhythm of guided sessions, nourishing meals and quiet time — not to keep you busy, but to hold the space so that, for a little while, you don't have to.
A weekend to step out of the noise and come home to yourself
Join me for a gentle, small-group silent retreat in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Over three days, you’ll be invited to step away from the demands of daily life and enter a quieter rhythm of rest, reflection, and reconnection.
Through silence, digital detox, guided practices, and time in nature, you’ll have the opportunity to slow down, settle your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself away from the constant noise of modern life.
This retreat is intentionally small, with a maximum of six participants, creating a supportive environment that feels both spacious and held.
Whether you’re seeking rest, clarity, creativity, or simply a pause from the busyness of everyday life, this retreat offers space to listen, reflect, and reset.
What to Expect
Throughout the retreat, you’ll be supported through a combination of:
Guided meditation and relaxation
Breathwork practices
Reflective journalling
Creative exploration
Time in nature
Digital detox
Nourishing vegetarian meals
Spacious periods of silence and rest
No previous experience of silent retreats or meditation is required.
The Retreat Experience
Friday
You’ll arrive during the afternoon and have time to settle into your room and explore the house.
We’ll gather together for our first meal and opening session before gradually moving into silence later that evening.
Saturday
Saturday is our full day in silence.
There will be a gentle programme of guided practices, reflection and creativity woven throughout the day, alongside generous amounts of free time.
You might choose to walk, journal, rest, sit by the fire or simply notice what emerges when the usual distractions are removed.
Sunday
We’ll spend the first part of Sunday still within the retreat space before gradually bringing the period of silence to a close.
There will be time to reflect on your experience, reconnect as a group and consider how you might carry something of the stillness back into everyday life.
The main retreat finishes late Sunday afternoon.
For those who would prefer not to move immediately from silence back into travel and everyday responsibilities, there is the option to stay for an additional night.
Sunday evening to Monday (Optional)
The optional third night offers an opportunity to let the retreat land.
Silence will have ended, and the evening will be more relaxed and informal, with dinner together and space to talk, reflect and enjoy the surroundings.
Following breakfast on Monday morning, we’ll say our goodbyes and head home.
Meet Your Facilitator
Vanessa is an integrative psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, and spiritual counsellor dedicated to supporting others on the journey back to their true self. She understands that in our loud, hyper-connected world, silence is a radical necessity. By intentionally stepping away from daily distractions, she helps you create the spaciousness needed to hear your own intuition, welcome creative inspiration, and remember who you are.
Often described as deeply nurturing and intuitive, Vanessa’s style is not about giving you the answers, but about gently challenging and supporting you to find your own. She holds a fiercely safe, compassionate space designed to empower you to step fully into your own truth.
Whether you spend your time resting, reflecting, walking in nature, or quietly sitting with a cup of tea, you'll be met exactly where you are.
The Setting
For this retreat we’ll be staying in a spacious countryside house in Somerset, surrounded by open landscape and with plenty of room both indoors and outside.
The house has generous rooms, a large private garden and orchard, panoramic views and plenty of shared space in which to settle quietly throughout the weekend. Inside, an AGA kitchen, woodburner and large communal rooms give the house a warm, lived-in feeling rather than the formality of a retreat centre.
Outside, there is room to wander, sit and spend time in the landscape, with fields behind the house that are often home to sheep and cattle. There is also a hot tub for those who would like to use it during their free time.
The Accommodation
The retreat is limited to just six participants, creating an intimate and supportive atmosphere.
The house offers a mixture of private and shared accommodation, with comfortable communal spaces where we will gather for meals and guided sessions.
Accommodation options include:
A Private Room with ensuite facilities
Private Rooms
Shared Twin Rooms
Full room options and pricing can be found below.
Location & Travel
The retreat takes place close to the village of High Ham in Somerset, in a peaceful rural position overlooking the Somerset Levels. The elevated setting gives the house wide views across the surrounding landscape, while still being within reach of nearby towns and transport links.
Despite feeling wonderfully tucked away, the retreat is easily accessible by road and rail.
The venue has ample on-site parking, so travelling by car is straightforward. By car, the venue is approximately:
30 minutes from Taunton
1 hour from Bristol
2.5 hours from London
By train, the nearest mainline station is Taunton, with direct services from London Paddington, Bristol, Exeter, and the South West.
Further travel information and joining instructions will be provided after booking.
Where practical, I am also happy to help connect participants who may be arriving from similar directions so that lifts or taxis can potentially be shared.

Allowing yourself to stop
We can become very accustomed to believing that change happens through doing more: finding another answer, understanding another pattern or pushing ourselves towards the next stage.
Sometimes what is needed is quite different.
A period of silence does not promise transformation, clarity or a breakthrough. What it offers is the opportunity to stop adding more noise for a while and notice what becomes possible when there is less competing for your attention.
The Stillpoint Within is an invitation to spend a weekend in that space, held gently alongside a very small group of people doing the same.
